The portfolio consists of 66 hotels in 12 countries (summer 2017) – from Spain and Greece to Cyprus, Croatia and the Maldives.

History

2017

Two new hotels in Croatia and the Maldives as longhaul destination enlarge our portfolio which consists now of 66 hotels in 12 countries.

2016

Expansion of the portfolio on the Greek Islands, with Corfu, Crete and Rhodes each having a new hotel as well as the Spanish mainland as a new destination. With 4 new properties a total of 77 hotels in 12 countries operate under the smartline brand in summer 16.

 

2015

Further 39 hotels join the smartline family. The brand now consists of 86 hotels in 12 countries (Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, The Gambia, Tunisia and Turkey).

 

2014

After a successful first year, 29 hotels are added to the smartline portfolio, which is enlarged to 51 hotels now.

 

2013

In summer 2013 Thomas Cook is the first tour operator launching a budget hotel brand in the “sun and beach” segment. The hotel brand ‘smartline Hotels’ is announced to the public in October 2012 and sold in 8 Thomas Cook source markets throughout Europe. The first smartline hotels are located in the holiday destinations of Egypt, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and Spain.
